Area Law Enforcement
Around fifty automobiles have been marked with what seems to be human bodily fluid in the Germany's municipality of Hanau near Frankfurt, according to authorities.
Automobiles, walls and postboxes were vandalized, sometimes with Nazi symbols, they announced in a release.
Law enforcement say they were notified in the late hours on Wednesday, when a individual discovered that a vehicle in the Lamboy neighborhood of Hanau had been smeared with a reddish fluid.
The fluid had been drawn in the form of a Nazi symbol, they reported.
Police then found multiple other vandalized automobiles and building exteriors in the adjacent neighborhood.
Nazi symbols are prohibited in Germany under regulations banning the public exhibition of Nazi-era symbols.
Law enforcement report early analysis show the fluid was likely human blood.
"At present there remains no clue as to its origin; authorities are presently not cognizant of any harm in relation with the event," they added.
Local authorities announced they were attempting "to unravel the incident" and have requested to the public for details.
A high-ranking representative said the vandalism rendered him stunned and needed to be resolved quickly.
"This event strikes at the very heart of Hanau and reopens the trauma of the far-right terrorist attack in 2020," he stated on online, mentioning the death of nine people by a assailant focusing on individuals of immigrant origin in 2020.
